ON Wednesday at 7pm, Hereford Cathedral School and Friends, supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, will be performing the largest ticketed community concert Hereford Cathedral has held in years.

The Cathedral School outreach event will showcase the county’s finest musical talent and the highlight of the evening will be Alexander L’Estrange’s Zimbe – conducted by David Evans, Hereford Cathedral School Director of Music – with the African musical extravaganza featuring a concert choir of more than 400 students from 15 Herefordshire schools and Alexander L’Estrange.

Other pieces will witness Hereford Cathedral School’s Symphony Orchestra performing Vivaldi’s Concerto in C for two flutes (soloists – HCS students Patrick Dunachie and Beth Smith), Klaus Badelt’s Pirates of the Caribbean, and Mozart’s Piano concerto No 23 in A major (soloist – HCS student Amalie Fisher) and Horn Concerto No 3 (soloist – HCS student Emma Leeman).
