A WOMAN was assaulted as she walked through a Hereford subway on Monday evening.

The 33-year-old victim was grabbed by two other women in the Eign Gate underpass just after 6.30pm.

One of the women pulled the victim by her hair before banged her head against a wall several times.

She fell to the ground after hitting the wall and then the other attacker kicked and stamped on her several times.

Three men then came to the victim’s aid but not before she had suffered swelling to her right eye, bruising to her right hand, grazes to her arms and legs and a number of bumps on her head.

The first woman is described as white, in her early 20s, around five feet two inches tall and had a slim build and dark brown hair. She is also described as wearing light blue jeans and trainers.

The second woman is also described as white and in her early 20s, but she is said to be around 5ft tall with curly, dark blonde hair. She is described as wearing a blue or purple ‘puffa' jacket, blue jeans and high heeled shoes.

She was said to be carrying a white and green carrier bag.
