A HEREFORD vet has dived from the sky to help in the battle against a condition she suffers from.

Amanda Kitching, along with five veterinary nurses who work at a Hereford practice, raised £3,500 for the MS Society after taking a tandem skydive from 12,000 feet in Cirencester.

The team work at Brookfield Vets in Hampton Park and undertook the jump because the MS Society has provided support to Amanda since her diagnosis with relapsing/remitting Multiple Sclerosis in 2010.

“Free falling for 45 seconds at 120mph was the most surreal and exhilarating sensation," said Amanda.

Joining Amanda were Natalie Gunner, Charlotte Bradley, Trish Helme, Georgia Bristow and Lara Howarth, together with Rachael Harris, head nurse at Elms Veterinary Surgery in Monmouth.

Amanda would like to thank local businesses that have provided raffle prizes for fundraising draws on Friday (March 2) and March 10. There will also be a car boot sale, two raffles and a cocktail tasting evening to raise more money.

This will be used by the charity to fund vital research into the disease, as well as help two local branches of the MS Society.
