HEREFORD Cathedral Choir are to sing live to a large audience in a BBC broadcast.
The choir are due to appear on a live broadcast of Choral Evensong on BBC Radio 3 on Wednesday February 22 at 3.30 pm.
This is Ash Wednesday and the service will include Allegri’s Miserere, which is traditionally performed on the day. The broadcast is expected to be heard by an audience of more than quarter of a million.
Geraint Bowen, organist and director of music at the cathedral, said: "A live broadcast is one of the many highlights that the choristers experience during their time in the choir."
All are welcome at the service which will last for around an hour. Those attending are asked to be seated by 3.15 pm.
