MORE money than anticipated has been made available to boost infrastructure projects across the region including Herefordshire.
Nearly £100,000 more than provisionally allocated to The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has been made available from the Growing Places Fund.
The money will boost infrastructure projects in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin.
Dr Geoffrey Davies OBE, chairman of the LEP, said the £5.53 million allocation for the region would also help create new jobs.
“The announcement means that we can get on with the business of helping to revitalise stalled projects which will, in turn, create sustainable private sector employment," said Dr Davies.
“The LEP is currently in discussions about which projects should be prioritised locally, with the funding available to help with capital costs for schemes extending to land and property, transport, utilities, broadband and flood defences.”
The Marches LEP allocation was provisionally set at £5,438,945 but the Department of Communities and Local Government has confirmed it had been awarded £5,531,035.
