NIGHTJAR music showcases the extraordinary diversity of its programming next month, kicking off with a performance on November 3, in The Courtyard’s Studio by Mike Whellans, ‘the one man blues band’.

The following evening sees the return of Northern Harmony, who will be singing at St John’s Church, St Owen Street. Transcending the traditional definition of choral music, the group is particularly renowned for its command of varied world ethnic singing styles.

Last time Ade Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds came to Hereford, they sold out, so immediate booking for the band’s return with their First Farewell Tour, on November 6, is recommended.

Completing a quartet of great gigs is Sadio Cissokho, who delivers his music straight from the Casamance region of Senegal – fierce sabar drum patterns and the national afro beat dance style – to The Steiner Academy Birch Hall, Much Dewchurch, on November 11 at 7.30pm.
