LOCAL VILLAGE HALL - The local community in Much Dewchurch has been presented with renovations to its memorial village hall thanks to construction specialists Speller Metcalfe.

Originally contracted to complete works on The Steiner Academy Hereford school in Much Dewchurch, Speller Metcalfe met with local residents to discuss how construction traffic would be managed throughout the village and disruption kept to a minimum during the building of the school. As a gesture to the community, Steve Speller, joint managing director for Speller Metcalfe offered to help improve the community facilities, including renovations to the current memorial village hall, with costs to the project paid for by the company.

Other materials were donated by local suppliers, including local electrical supplier Melcon, who provided and installed heaters and wiring. Paint provided by Travis Perkins, timber and plaster by Jewson’s and plasterboard from Woods Insulation were also kindly donated to the project. Along with the materials and finances, Speller Metcalfe administrative staff donated their time to the project to help renovate the memorial hall, including insulating external walls, replacing heaters and radiators and repainting skirting, walls and window rails.

Following completion, the memorial village hall is already being put to good use, with yoga classes, mother and toddlers meetings, bingo and a garden club all scheduled for the first week.
