COUNTY councillors have this morning approved controversial plans to build four wind turbines on Herefordshire's Welsh border.
Many protestors waved placards outside the council's planning office outlining their obections for a 300 foot high wind farm to be built on Reeves Hill, near Presteigne.
But despite hearing their concerns, the majority of councillors approved the application.
The plans were submitted by Bolsterstone Innovative Energy more than three years ago and was intially earmarked for referral to the secretary of state before a call-in was dropped, leaving the local authority to make its own decision.
Powys County Council will now also have to approve the application as a public highway which needs wideing for access purposes is situated over the Welsh border.
