Police are concerned about the welfare of a Romanian man who has gone missing in Herefordshire.

Ion Adrian Tuna, who is working in the county as an agricultural worker, has not been seen since Monday. The 20-year-old was living and working in Hom Green, near Ross-on-Wye and was last seen by work colleagues.

He is 5ft 9in tall, of medium build and has dark brown eyes and hair, which is cropped short.

When he was last seen he was dressed smartly and carrying a small rucksack.

Inspector Bob Barnett said: “We believe Ion may have left the country to return to Romania where his mother is ill, but we need to confirm his whereabouts to make sure he has not come to any harm.

“Ion does not speak much English and he does not own or have access to a vehicle, so if he is travelling he will have had to come into contact with people, either on the public transport network or by hitchhiking.

“If you have any information as to his whereabouts, then please contact West Mercia Police straight away.”

Those with information are asked to contact the Herefordshire Duty Inspector via the West Mercia Police non-emergency line, 0300 333 3000, or information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
