FIREFIGHTERS were called to a farm fire at Moccas last night.
Crews from Hereford, Peterchurch, Eardisley and Rosson- Wye were sent at 9.15pm.
About 200 tonnes of straw and 200 tonnes of grain were alight, but crews managed to minimise the damage by removing the farm machinery quickly.
Neil Lilwall, watch manager, said: “Using some of the farm machinery, firefighters worked hard alongside the farmer for several hours to remove grain and straw from the buildings to a large open field where it could burn out safely.”
