Ross Town 2 Pewsey Vale 1
ROSS seem finally to be getting their GLS Hellenic League Division 1 West season back on track after another good home win.
The home side got off to a poor start, however, when a Pewsey striker charged down a clearance from Ross goalkeeper Tom Whittaker and deflected the ball into the net.
After this Ross seized control of the play and Andy Sherlock and Luke Gray, twice, came close to levelling the scores.
Just before half-time the home side grabbed the equaliser their play deserved when Jamie Warwick saw the Pewsey goalkeeper off his line and lobbed the ball over him from 30 yards.
The second half was all Ross and, with Whittaker not having a save to make, virtually all the action was in the visitors' half of the pitch.
With Chalky Robertshaw and Adam Bridges pulling the strings in midfield, Ross created a host of chances and Paul Burnham was desperately unlucky not to put the home side ahead when his free-kick was blocked on the line.
Sherlock finally netted the winner when he capped a fine move with a low drive across the goalkeeper.
