TARRINGTON was a hive of activity as people turned out to celebrate the history of the parish and to toast its future.

The village festival made sure there was plenty for people of all ages to get involved with.

It was also a time for reflection as a plaque dedicated to the 1913 peal ringers was unveiled.

The honours were carried out by Christine Bell and Ivy Jones (pictured above), whose fathers Alfred Vernall and George Evesham were among those remembered.

Floral arrangements filled the church and an exhibition decked the Lady Emily Hall, where childhood friends Eva Weaver and Elsie Hill (pictured below) got to reminisce on the days when the community centre used to be their school.

Trails through the parish and a performance by the Aberhondu (Brecon) Male Voice Choir were among the weekend's highlights.
