PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION - Congratulations to the winners of the photographic competition, sponsored by Melgray, for the Holy Rood Church Restoration Appeal. Thanks are extended to the 36 entrants. Judging was said to be difficult, when the final decision was announced at the church fete at Sufton Court. Winners were: Under-12: Kate Hankinson and Mary Twidale; 12-18-years: Sam Twidale and Ursula Hankinson; adults: Mrs A Jones and Mr S Castle. The committee thanks the judges, Melgray and Rob Bristow, for all their help.

RACE FOR LIFE - Congratulations to Cardine Smith for competing in the Race for Life at Worcester Racecourse. She raised more than £80 for the Cancer Relief for Women.

JUMBLE SALE - A jumble sale is to be held at Mordiford School on Saturday, July 22, at 2pm. There will also be a raffle and cake stall. All proceeds go to the Church Restoration Fund.

SHAKESPEARE - The British Touring Shakespeare Company is performing 'Much Ado About Nothing' at Sufton Court, Mordiford, on Saturday, July 29. Gates open for picnics from 6.15pm and the performance starts at 7.30pm, whatever the weather. Entrance on the door is £9 (£5 concessions). This is an open-air performance, feel free to bring picnic, rugs or chairs and warm clothing. Proceeds are in aid of the Church Restoration Fund.
