OUTING - Twenty-one members of Lyonshall Ladies Luncheon Club enjoyed a Millennium outing to Monnington Court, visiting the home of Mr and Mrs John Bulmer. After a scrumptious tea in the Butt House, they had a tour of the gardens, admiring Angela Conner's magnificent sculptures and a display by the beautiful Morgan horses, as well as a tiny five-week-old foal with its mother. The club's July luncheon was at the Corner's Inn, Kingsland, where the speaker was David Rees, area fund-raiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care. He gave an interesting and thought-provoking talk on the work of his organisation, the most comprehensive of all the UK cancer charities -- one that complements, rather than rivals, the work of the Macmillan nurses.
