THE Ledbury Rotary Club would like to thank the people who supported the Polio Mobilise A Million walk on Sunday 23rd February. As a result of their generosity enough money was raised to buy nearly 5,000 doses of Polio Vaccine, a significant step towards the goal of eradication by 2005.
GENEROUS Hereford shoppers boosted funds to fight polio by £1200 last weekend. The collection, at Sainsburys on friday and Saturday, was organised by The Rotary Club of Hereford as part of an international campaign to eliminate the disease world-wide by 2005. Treasurer Alan Brailsford said: "This was an excellent result." Recent meetings have welcomed Eleanor Drinkwater from Hereford HeartStart and Dr Donald McGlashon, county police surgeon and, as new members, Philip Eyles and Mrs Bobbie Heavens.
