A SUPPORTERS' Trust for Hereford United will be formed next month, it was decided by a well-attended meeting organised by HUISA.
Supporters' Direct, a national organisation providing advice on such ventures, was represented at the meeting which was called with the intention of furthering the idea of a trust to help the football club.
HUISA chairman Kevin Wargen said: "There was a lot of support for a trust. A working party has been formed to provide a constitution and we must be registered legally, so we are focusing on that."
Martin Watson, who had previously come up with the idea of a consortium to buy shares in the football club, is a member of the working party which is looking to launch the trust in three or four weeks time.
"The aim is to bring a broader-based support for the club with local industries and charities becoming involved," said Wargen. "It is a way forward to providing something in which the whole community can take part. The football club can play a big part in the wellbeing of Herefordshire."
He hoped the Trust could have a beneficial influence on Hereford United with members getting on the board of directors and having a share holding.
