FARNBOROUGH Town may be in turmoil but Hereford United boss Graham Turner will be wary of a backlash when the two clubs meet tonight (7.45).

Manager Graham Westley's decision to jump ship to Stevenage Borough within 48 hours of Farnborough's FA Cup exit at the hands of Arsenal has rocked the Hampshire club. But Turner is too long in the tooth to take anything for granted at the Aimita Stadium.

Indeed with Farnborough shrugging off a turbulent seven days to win 3-2 at Telford United in the FA Trophy on Saturday there is plenty to concentrate the mind of the Hereford manager.

"Farnborough didn't show any signs of turmoil on Saturday. We had them watched and they played very well to beat Telford and get through to the next round of the Trophy," he said.

"Sometimes players can respond positively in turmoil but though we know what's gone on at their club for us it is a case of doing the right things for our players, and making sure our approach to the game is right.

"Some of their players have left but they've got a big squad and still got some good players.

"The timing of Westley's move was probably not the best but he's certainly moved Farnborough on as a club."

Victory will move the Bulls above Morecambe into the last play-off slot and complete a league double over the side they beat on the opening day of the Nationwide Conference season when Jamie Pitman scored both goals in a 2-1 win.

Andy Tretton is out with a one suspension which paves the way for club captain Ian Wright to return. The Bulls' skipper has featured just once as a substitute in the last nine matches.

Rob Purdie, who missed the Bulls' last outing at Morecambe with a knee injury, remains a slight doubt but Turner expects him to be on the bench.

Farnborough, meanwhile, are without Steve Watson, Micky Warner, Gary Holloway and Barry Laker who have all joined Westley at Stevenage.

Hereford's 3-1 loss at Morecambe saw the Lancashire side overtake the Edgar Street club, but Turner was not disappointed with the performance.

"I thought we played reasonably well at Morecambe without getting what we deserved but it's now up to us to keep picking up points and stay in touch," he added.
