Hereford women can make it a summer to remember by running in this year’s Race for Life.
This year’s event takes place on July 25 and women joining it at Hereford Racecourse can be part of the biggest female-only team in the country.
Race for Life is the UK’s largest female-only fund-raising event from which all the money goes to fund Cancer Research UK’s lifesaving work.
All women are welcome, as individuals or as part of a group, and entry for the 2010 event is now officiallly open.
Last year a total of 2,300 women walked, jogged or ran the five-kilometre race which took place for the seventh time in the city raising £120,000.
This year, organisers are encouraging women to put their best feet forward in an attempt to make £125,000.
Tracey Duffy of Cancer Research UK said: “This year Race for Life is going to be full of amazing moments for everyone - from lining up at the start, sideby- side with thousands of other women, to reading the inspirational back-signs worn by participants and the fantastic sense of achievement from crossing the finish line.”
Cancer Research UK funds research and clinical trials.
This means people in Hereford with a type of leukaemia can take part in a study to find the most effective treatment for the disease.
This important trial will test several new drugs in combination with the usual chemotherapy.
