THREE cows were rescued at a south Herefordshire farm after getting stuck in a slurry pit.
Firefighters from Whitchurch and a water rescue team from Hereford were called to Sandyway Farm at St Weonards at 8.50am last Thursday.
Samantha Jones, spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire Service, said that the animals had wandered out of their enclosure and into a 7ft deep slurry pit.
Straps were attached to the cows and a digger was used to get them out. It is not known how long they had been in the pit.
