Hereford branch of British Korean Veterans Association honour Korean War dead

THE Hereford branch of the British Korean Veterans Association is holding eight remembrance services this week.

Veterans will lay wreaths in Hereford, Ludlow, Eardisley and the county towns to mark the 56th anniversary of the ceasefire.

British casualties were 1,078 killed in action, 2,674 wounded and 1,060 missing or taken prisoner in the conflict that followed the North Korean invasion of South Korea in 1950.

Services take place today (Thursday) at the Public Hall Garden, Bromyard, 10am; Walled Garden, Ledbury, 11am; and The Prospect, Ross-on-Wye, 12.15pm.

Tomorrow (Friday) they will be at: Surgery Garden, Eardisley, 10am; Recreation Ground, Kington, 11am; The Grange, Leominster, noon; St Laurence Church, Ludlow, 2.30pm.

Saturday’s commemmoration will be at the Rose Gardens, Ledbury Road, Hereford, 10.45am.
