A WOMAN who uncovered dozens of antiques in her garden has shared her discoveries on national television.
Jan Long, of Bromsberrow Heath, mingled with the stars on Monday when she appeared on This Morning.
Mrs Long received an invitation after uncovering Roman coins, pottery and other artefacts while redesigning her garden. She appeared on a spoof Antiques Roadshow with Eric Knowles before chatting with Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield.
“Eric was really nice, a barrel of laughs and seemed interested in all my treasures,”
said Mrs Long.
“I brought a diamond ring, a child’s bracelet and a pot of coins. He told me one Roman coin had the King of Mercia on it.”
Mrs Long, who travelled to London the night before, spotted Celebrity Masterchef winner Jayne Middlemiss and Dynasty actor Emma Samms while waiting.
But the hosts made the biggest impression.
She called the pair “absolutely charming”, and forgot the audience of millions.
She said: “Phillip is very handsome and looks so young, and Fern is simply lovely with an infectious smile and laugh.”
Mrs Long even managed to plug the church fete – in her garden this Saturday – before returning to Ledbury for a Rotary Club meeting.
