ONE of the world’s biggest websites is putting Bromyard on the map.

One of Google’s Street View cars was spotted in the town this morning (Thursday, July 9).

The internet giant is creating 360-degree images of UK towns and cities to put online.

The vehicles - easily recognisable from the octagonal camera on the roof - have been seen throughout Herefordshire.

The scheme has provoked national debate, with some expressing concerns over privacy and criminal activity.

But Google spokesperson, Laura Scott, said the scheme would be a boost for traders and tourism.

“We captured the first 25 cities a couple of months ago, but we want to make sure we can bring it to other new places,” she said.

“It’s great for local businesses, because anyone in the world can see them on the internet.”
