A PHOTOGRAPHY student has made the grade by promoting traders in Bromyard.

Gemma Warr, from Pencombe, captured 30 traders on camera for her final project at Hereford College of Arts.

The 21-year-old will unveil “Shopkeepers of Bromyard - a rural campaign” at the Falcon Hotel this Saturday, July 11.

The portraits secured her graduation, while painting the importance of independent traders to Bromyard.

“I’ve always been fascinated by how individual the shops are in Bromyard,” said Miss Warr, who expects to graduate shortly.

“If you go into a big store it’s all so impersonal so I think these places should be cherished. It’s for a college project, but anything that advertises these shops is a good thing.”

Miss Warr said the town boasted some real characters, and took the pictures indoors to capture the atmosphere.
