A FORMER Hay-on-Wye woman has raised £700 for mental health charity MIND by taking part in the Three Peaks mountain challenge.

Lara Weaver, 26, reached the sum after climbing Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike in one day.

The former Fairfield pupil and her team were due to finish by climbing Snowdon but failed to do so when Lara hurt her knee.

Lara, who attempted the challenge in memory of her father Simon Weaver, said she was thankful for the support despite the difficulties.
