HEREFORDSHIRE beer and cider lovers are in for a treat this weekend with the fifth Beer on the Wye festival.

The three day event is held in a riverside marquee adjacent to Hereford Rowing Club and all seven county breweries will be there.

Blooming Marvellous, a new beer by Hereford’s Spinning Dog brewery, will be launched and and there will be more than 100 beers from all over the country.

And a county record should be set when a 110ft bar will be unveiled as Herefordshire’s longest. There will also be nearly 60 ciders and perries available.

Mark Haslam, festival organiser, said: “It is great to be able to showcase the best of what Herefordshire producers can do, as well as offering locals the opportunity to try beers from all over the UK.”

The event opens tomorrow (Friday) at 2pm.
