LE BARROUX TWINNING – On May 21, 29 residents of Much Marcle, including families from Much Marcle Primary School, visited Le Barroux, a hilltop village in Provence, France. This is the third visit following the official twinning of the two villages in 2004.

Each family stayed with a host French family for three days to be wined and dined in glorious sunshine. While the adults were enjoying their time in Carpentras, the children went to school to meet the pupils of L’ecole du Barroux, where they joined in games and songs (in French and English.).

BARBECUE – The villagers of Much Marcle must now prepare for the return visit of their friends from Le Barroux and in order to raise much-needed funds, there will be a barbecue and live music at Hellens Manor House, Much Marcle, on Sunday, June 21, from 12.30pm.

Tickets £10 adults, £5 children (under 12s), Family ticket £25 (two adults, two children). Barbecue meal included in ticket price. Bar available. Tickets available from Much Marcle Shop, Ledbury Books & Maps and Janey Cotton on 01531 660322. Do come and enjoy a taste of Provence here in Herefordshire.
