ONE of the rarest birds of prey has again been spotted in Herefordshire.
Last week, the Hereford Times reported how staff at Weir Gardens, near Bishopstone, spotted a red kite above their land.
Now one of the stunning birds has been seen in Bromyard.
Bryan Hall, a bird enthusiast who lives in Firs Orchard, has spotted one over his garden.
“It’s the first time we have ever seen one in Herefordshire and we have certainly never seen one in the Bromyard area,” said Mr Hall.
“They have a longer wingspan than a buzzard and are sleeker with red wings. They are beautiful birds.”
Experts say bird watchers in the county can expect to see red kites more often as their numbers are increasing and moving away from Mid-Wales.
