DAVID Bateman, Nick Previte and John Tyler fired 69 points to secure top spot in the seniors’ Bowmaker competition at Burghill Valley.

Paul Baker, Brian Blower and Len Lewis also carded 69 points but finished second on a countback.

Mike Archer, Roger Burrough and Jeff Kramer were third with a return of 68 points.

q Colin Morgan and Phil Green registered 41 points to win the latest round of the Winter League at Belmont GC.

Colin Tolley and Des Davies were second with 40 points, while Chris Merriman and Martin Feeley were third with 39 points.

Maurice Embrey totalled 73 points and was the overall winner of the seniors’ Winter Stableford Trophy which was played over two legs.

Angus Maclean also carded 73 points but was the runner-up after a countback.

Eric Myers won the first leg with 38 points, with John Alexander taking second spot with 37 points.

Paul Gosling won the second leg with 40 points and Des Samuel was second after a 37-point return.

q Kevin Baylis carded 78-14-64 to win the low handicap division in the seniors’ medal competition at Herefordshire GC.

Barry Stevenson (76-10-66) was second, while Ian McIntosh (80-12-68) was third.

Colin King took the high handicap honour with a round of 89-24-65.

He was followed by second-placed Joe Millington (86-20-66) and third-placed George Field (87-21-66).

q Malcolm Price remains top of the Cradoc GC’s Winter League scoreboard despite losing for the first time in six rounds.

Phil Davies has narrowed the gap to one point after totalling 25 points from five wins.

Phil James and Jeff Price are also hard on the heels of Malcolm Price.

q Joss Ingram, with 39 points, was the Division 1 winner of the January Monthly Medal at Leominster GC.

R Arrowsmith was second with 37 points, while Ian Fraser was third with 36 points.

Mark Lane won Division 2 with 40 points, while Terry Davies was second on a countback after firing 38 points.

Ray Powell also carded 38 points but had to settle for third place.

Paul Thompson carried off the top prize in Division 3 after a 37-point haul.

Paul Green was second on a countback from third-placed Charlie Tune after both players fired 36 points.

Jimmy Lindsay won the Division 1 medal in a tightly-contested seniors’ medal.

Lindsay finished ahead of second-placed Ian Robertson and third-placed R Arrowsmith after all three players finished with 37 points.

W Harris triumphed in Division 2 with a return of 35 points.

John Hunt was second, with 33 points, and Ken Vale took third spot after carding 32 points.

Phil Cassidy won the Division 3 title on a countback from second-placed Guy Thompson after both players totalled 39 points.

Jeremy Finney was third with 38 points.

q Paul Broadrick won the Winter Eclectic at Sapey GC after carding 60-3-57.

Dave Parry was second with 65-8-57, while Pat Gaffney took third place with 65-6-59.

q Denise Laird, Julia Rollings and Rosie Price won Ross Ladies’ Tuesday competition with a 69-point return.

Vicki Flowers, Joan Punnett and Mary Palmer were second, in a field of 36 players, with 66 points.
