THE IT director of a Leominster company spent a night under the stars to help young homeless people.
Graham Benson, of M and M Direct, endured a night in the cold at Potters Field, near London Bridge, as part of Byte Night - the IT industry’s annual charity sleep out.
Graham’s team, made up of fellow IT directors Steve Clarke, Nic Evans and Richard Steel, raised more than £6,000 for the charity Action for Children.
“I am really pleased to be involved with the silicon.comrades and such a worthwhile cause,” said Graham.
“What we experienced is actually normal life for the unfortunates that Byte Night aims to help.
“We were lucky - it didn't rain, and although it was the coldest night of the autumn, there were hot drinks available through the night.
“We have raised enough money, so far, to keep 19 young homeless people in supported lodgings for a month, but more funding is always needed.”
It is still possible to sponsor the team - head to justgiving.com/siliconcomrades
