THE parents of a Hereford toddler are dreaming of a golden future for their two year-old, who can already swim a width at his swimming pool unaided.

Ethan Morgan has impressed instructors at the Waterbabies class at Trinity School, by learning to swim alone, and underwater, while his classmates continue to get support from their parents.

Mum Sharon joked: “We’re thinking maybe the Olympics in 2020! But really, we’ll just keep coming as long as he enjoys it.”

Sharon and husband Julian, from Kingsthorne, started Ethan learning when he was nine- months-old.

“In fact, it actually turned out to be quite scary at the beginning,” Sharon said, “because he would just run along and jump in – you had to watch him all the time.”

Instructor Charlie Jones said other two year-olds learned to swim unaided but Ethan was unusual because he had mastered the art of coming up for breath at an early age.
