A HEREFORD store has won praise for its awareness of guide dog owners.
Visually impaired residents Tony Doverman and Jeanette Rose were joined by their dogs Robbie and Beth in presenting Marks and Spencers with a Dog Star Award.
Mr Doverman said: “This store has made a proactive approach to visually impaired people in Hereford by allowing it to be opened after hours to allow VIP cane and dog users access to the store to familiarize themselves with access points and escape routes.”
The awards are promoted by Assistance Dogs UK (ADUK).
ADUK chair Alan Brooks said: “By highlighting good practice, we hope it will become the norm and that, in future, our vision of doors always being open to all assistance dog users will become reality.”
