THE head of a Ross-on-Wye railway engineering business has documented the firm’s history in a new book.

Alan Keef has published A Tale of Many Railways, an Autobiography and History of Alan Keef Limited.

The Keef family has had connections with small railways since the 1870s.

The book includes more than 200 pictures which document the history of the company since its inauguration in 1968 and the 80 or so new locomotives built to date.

There are also details of other railway projects Alan Keef Ltd has been involved in, such as launching tracks for lifeboats and industrial monorails.

The book is published by Lightmoor Press, costs £30 and is available at the Alan Keef Ltd Open Day, Lea Line, Ross, on Saturday.
