STUDENTS from Kingstone High School were treated to music, dance and poetry workshops from a Zimbabwean group.

Imbongi, which is fronted by Zimbabwe’s premier dub poet Albert Nyathi, is made up of eight dancers, musicians and singers.

The group’s visit to the school was organised by Music Pool, Herefordshire’s community music charity which runs music activities for people of all ages and abilities Rob Strawson, of Music Pool, said: “They were here four years ago and visited a school and held a concert.

“They are on a UK national tour at the moment and when we found out, we thought we would invite them back to Hereford.”

The programme included a mixture of traditional and contemporary African entertainment and the group held three workshops for pupils to attend.

Students from Kingstone’s feeder primary schools were also invited to take part.

Imbongi also performed at The Courtyard as part of its tour.
