The Freedom of the City will be extended to The Rifles during a lavish ceremony in Hereford next weekend.
The occasion, arranged by Hereford City Council for Saturday, July 19, will also see the Colours of the 3rd Battalion the Light Infantry being laid up'.
Castle Green will be the venue for a display of the Colours from 2pm before The Rifles 'exercise their right' to march through the city two hours later.
It is planned for The Rifles to march up St Owen Street past the Town Hall and along Widemarsh Street and Maylord Street before ending at the Shire Hall.
Later, at around 6.30pm, there will be the Sounding of the Retreat on Castle Green.
