Youth attacked by Poles

TWO Polish men who broke a youth’s nose in a tussle outside a Hereford nightspot have been ordered to pay compensation and carry out community service.

Marcin Czajka, aged 25, and Lukasz Rosinski, 24, were on the dancefloor at Dusk nightclub in the early hours of April 12 when they became involved in an argument with a 16-year-old male and his friend.

Prosecuting, Emily Lenham said that doorstaff ejected the four men and, once outside, the 16-year-old was punched to the ground and kicked by the defendants, who live in Longlevens in Gloucester.

Hereford Magistrates Court was shown CCTV footage of the attack which lasted just under a minute. It was not clear which defendant caused the broken nose.

Defending, Emma Davies said the two younger men had been trying to chat up the defendants’ girlfriends, which caused the argument. She said they had driven straight to the club to meet a friend and had only drunk a couple of glasses of wine.

She added that Czajka and Rosinski had arrived in the UK two-and-a-half years ago and worked in the manufacturing industry and were due to start training qualifications later in the year.

Both men admitted causing actual bodily harm and magistrates ordered them to each pay £500 in compensation to the victim and £60 prosecution costs, as well as carrying out 70 hours community service.
