A ROSS landmark has gone under the tree surgeon's knife as part of a preservation project.
The ash tree in Wilton Road is one of the first to benefit from a grant scheme adminstered by the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and funded by National Grid, to help owners maintain their trees.
The ash tree is in the grounds of the Court House B&B and is opposite the Leaping Salmon sculpture.
Landowners with ancient trees growing within the area of the gas pipeline installation are eligible for a free inspection and grant.
