An early start for Morris men

4:44pm Friday 9th May 2008

THE National Blood Service is appealing for Ross-on-Wye residents to give blood this month.

The two bank holidays in May make it even more important to give blood, as poor session attendance can lead to a fall in blood stocks.

Cathy Davies, communications officer for the NBS, said: “We understand that people use the bank holiday weekends as an opportunity to go away, but the demand for blood never stops. We are urging people to please try and attend a session in their local area before, during or after the bank holiday weekends.” Anyone aged between 17 and 59 weighing more than 50kg (7 stone, 12 lbs) and in general good health could be a donor.

The next session is on Tuesday at Larruperz Centre, Grammar School Close, Ross. Session times are from 10am to 3.30pm and 4.30pm to 7pm. Appointments should be booked in advance on 0845 7711711.
