HEREFORD’S current lifestyles are depleting the Earth’s natural resources quicker than it can replace them, according to environmental charity WWF.
But steps such as calculating carbon footprints and using eco-tips can be taken to help reduce the impact.
Colin Butfield, head of campaigns at WWF-UK, said: “The people of Hereford would need more than three planets to sustain the amount of resources they use, which highlights the need for us all to reduce our consumption of resources.” In a survey on the footprint of 60 UK cities, Hereford ranked in 45th place and has the 6th highest footprint for food.
