A LEOMINSTER-based group is offering would-be teachers a taste of life in the classroom.
The Robert Owen Society will be running three-day Teacher Taster Courses at their Learning Academy on the Minster College site.
Day one of the course gives an overview of teaching, the school curriculum and the roles and responsibilities of people who work in schools.
Day two is spent observing lessons in a school and talking to teachers. The final day is a chance to review the school visit and discuss your next step with the course team.
The Society is looking for men interested in primary school teaching and anyone looking at teaching maths, science, religious education, foreign languages or design and technology at secondary level.
Ideally candidates will be intending to apply to train to teach within a year.
The Society is holding an open day on May 28, from 10am to 1pm, for people to drop in and talk about the courses.
