AN 18-year-old man has died following an accident on a county road earlier this morning.
The car passenger was in a Nissan Micra travelling towards Burghill, just off the A438 Roman Road, at around 3.15am.
The 17-year-old driver of the Nissan has since been arrested and is currently in custody at Leominster Police Station.
Police press officer, Neil Tipton said: "The driver of the car - a 17-year-old - was uninjured after the collision and was arrested at the scene. An 18-year-old front seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Both were local men."
Two fire crews from Hereford were called, along with an ambulance and the police.
Fire service press officer Alec Mackie said the vehicle left the road and struck a tree sideways on.
He said the driver of the Nissan was able to get out of the car before emergency services arrived.
No other vehicles were involved.
The location of the accident is thought to be around 400 yards off the Roman Road on the road leading to Burghill, just past the Three Elms pub.
The road is now believed to have re-opened.
