DEVELOPERS will again try to build a residential care complex for elderly people on vacant land in Hereford.
Herefordshire planners rejected the scheme last year saying the Faraday Road site, which was formerly used by Sun Valley, had been earmarked as employment land.
But owners Bovale Ltd say they have failed to find a more appropriate place in the city for the facilities and that the completed complex would generate 140 jobs for care professionals and other staff.
The application was considered at a planning inquiry last April at which the inspector agreed the scheme would be beneficial but asked Bovale to investigate other sites in Hereford.
Bovale's Charles Collier said the company responded to the request and had searched for a site elsewhere but commercial house builders indicated land was not available.
A new planning application would be submitted to Herefordshire Council in the near future, he added.
