TWO Bromyard men are calling for a public protest against a 63% council tax rise.
Bromyard Town Council's bid for the Rowberry Street office is being questioned by Chris Pooley and Des Newman.
The bid means an extra £50 on the average Bromyard council tax bill, not including proposed rises from Herefordshire Council and emergency services.
The pair have set up the Herefordshire Citizens Association to challenge the rise, and to act as a watchdog to Herefordshire Council.
They hope 56 residents will protest at Monday's town council meeting, at 7.30pm, cancelling the 56 who voted to buy the office at a meeting, last May.
