A RESCUE dog will soon be helping to rescue people trapped in buildings in Herefordshire.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service has received funding for a highly trained rescue dog to help sniff out accident victims who are trapped in collapsed buildings.
The Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) dog will be kitted out with protective boots and jackets and trained for up to two years.
The service's USAR team is able to respond to any major incidents involving transport and unstable or collapsed structures.
