MORE than 80 houses will be built in Hereford to fund new top-class sporting facilities.

Herefordshire Council approved previously refused plans for 81 homes at Venns Lane to support a £21 million project by the Royal National College for the Blind.

Additions including a complementary therapy centre and student accommodation will hopefully help it become a host venue at the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
