MEMBERS of the Hereford Twinning Association have returned from a visit to the city's twin town in France.
A party of 30 enjoyed visits to chateaus, a winery and the homes of their French hosts during their stay at Vierzon.
The English guests were greeted by the Mayor, Jean Rousseau, at the town hall and were treated to a tour highlighting the history of Vierzon.
The following day a visit was made to the moated chateau at Bannegon which partly dates back to the Middle Ages.
After this the group visited another chateau in Apremont, which includes one of the most beautiful botanic gardens in France, along with a museum of horse-drawn carriages.
In the evening entertainment was provided by Les Berriauds, whose members have taken part in the Three Choirs Festival in Hereford on several occasions. On the final day there was a visit to a winery at Reuilly where there was ample time for tasting.
