THE Churches Together in Knighton Lunch Club celebrated their tenth anniversary on April 22.
The lunch club provides older members of the community with a weekly, freshly cooked two-course meal, in the Knighton Methodist Church, Victoria Road, Knighton.
Sister Margaret Davies, lunch club leader said today "The success of the lunch club, with up to 50 members attending regularly, is thanks to the hard work and commitment provided by a team of volunteer helpers supported and supervised by dedicated cooks over the last 10 years."
Also present for the celebration and cutting of the anniversary cake were representatives from the Knighton and District Rotary Club.
Rotary president Howard Goslyn said "We are pleased to have been able to give financial donations to this excellent community project over the past three years."
The lunch club members also recognised the work of the original committee, including Reverend Maggie Rich, Sister Margaret Davies and Helen Anderson, the latter who also manages Knighton Food Bank which is another community project for Churches Together.
