THREE big events have been arranged to raise money for a charity which helps parents with funeral costs.

The ELY Memorial Fund was set up by Angela and Steve Tyler after their daughter, Emma Louise Young, died in a car crash in 2010.

The charity offers a one-off payment towards funeral costs for families in Herefordshire if they lose a son or daughter between the ages 17 to 25 in a road traffic accident.

The first event is a Family Footgolf Day on Sunday, May 13 from 8am to 6pm at Hereford Golf Academy in Lyde. There are prizes for the top three adult scorers and top three under 16s. Bring your own football or use one from Hereford Golf. Prices are £6 for adults and £4 for under 16s.

To book call 01432 278908.

The second is the ELY 100 Challenge Bike Ride on Sunday, July 1. There will be a choice of four routes of 25, 50, 70 and 100 miles. There is also a 10-mile escorted family route. Entry prices range from £15 to £30. For the family ride adults are £5 and under 16s go free.
