A CASE related to the mysterious "Roger Curry appearance" story has been sent to crown court.
Simon Hayes, 52, of Taunton, Somerset appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court today.
He spoke only to confirm his name and address.
He is charged with one count of fraud, one of perverting the course of justice and two counts of possessing fake letters and references for the use in fraud.
The case has been sent to Worcester Crown Court next month. Hayes is on unconditional bail.
Mr Curry, who is from America, became the centre of an international investigation after he was found outside Hereford bus station in November 2015.
With no identification, Mr Curry, who is believed to be in his 70s, was unable to say who he was or where he had come from.
It was only by the efforts of a Panorama investigation that Mr Curry’s true identity – and nationality – was known.
