THE small village of Brimfield leads the field in a big way when it comes to raising cash for a local cancer charity.
For a start there's Zoe Collett, aged 15, who was shocked to learn of the number of teenagers who develop the disease that she went ahead and organised a variety concert in the village.
The Wigmore High School pupil raised a magnificent £1,340 at the " Brimfield's Got Talent" event for the Teenage Cancer Trust by her efforts.
Then there's Zoe's grandmother Carole Powell who, with friends, set up a support group for St. Michael's Hospice. The group is now in its sixth year and flourishing. There's is always an annual coffee morning and the one held by Mrs Powell on Saturday raised £600.
" It's in memory of my sister who died seven years ago," said Mrs Powell, " It has become a regular thing here in Brimfield and it does seem a lot for a small place but I think people are just very generous."
