SUCCESS for a Herefordshire mobile toilet business has certainly not been a flash in the pan.

For the sixth year, Charles and Becky Wall’s Plush Flush, based at Yew Tree Farm, Ruckhall, Eaton Bishop, has won two platinum grade awards for their loos.

They have also won a national category award for England, and for Wales, and the award for best mobile toilets in the UK. The latter prize has come their way no fewer than four times.

This year the enterprise has also won the best ‘away from home’ loos in England out of 60 individual categories before going on to win the prestigious trophy for best in the UK.

The local business was pitted against strong competition from national concerns including Asda, Gatwick Airport, and JD Wetherspoon.

All those engaged in the competition received an unannounced visit from a ‘Loo of the Year Award’ inspector, and each assessed according to 101 judging criteria. These included signage and décor, fixtures and fittings and overall standards of cleanliness and management. All conveniences then receive a grading ranging from bronze to platinum, then gold and platinum winners are short listed for one of several national awards covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.

Becky said: “We are delighted and blown away with the number of awards we received, as we are only a small family business and were up against many major national companies.

“Our quality and service of the toilets to our clients is always top of our priorities and we always pride ourselves in being more than just a toilet company.”

The awards were sponsored by Clos-o-Mat, Dolphin Dispensers, Dyson, Propelair and Toilet Twinning, supported by the four national tourism bodies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
